Staying connected

There’s something both reassuring and invigorating about keeping up with what’s going on in the world. At TurningSixty, we believe that being informed, engaged, and curious doesn’t end when we reach a certain age. In fact, it can become even more important. The world doesn’t stop changing, and neither do we.

This section of our site is a space for stories that matter. We’ll be sharing articles, insights, and reflections on news and current events that speak to the concerns, interests and experiences of people in their sixties and beyond. That might include developments in healthcare, finance, technology or politics, but also cultural shifts, local stories and trends that deserve attention. We’ll also be highlighting inspiring voices and new perspectives from our own community.

Too often, the media overlooks or simplifies the lives of older adults, reducing us to statistics or stereotypes. Here, we want to challenge that by offering thoughtful coverage of the issues that affect us, written with clarity, nuance and respect. We know that our readers are not just looking back, but looking around and forward too. Whether it’s a policy that might impact your pension, a breakthrough in medical research, or a story that simply makes you think, we hope this section becomes a place you return to often.

Our aim is to create something more than just a news feed. We want to foster connection and conversation. So if there’s a topic you think we should be covering, or if you have a story to tell, please get in touch. This is your space as much as it is ours.

Because being sixty-something is not about switching off. It’s about staying switched on to the world around us, and to each other.
